Pyrolysis

With our pyrolysis technology, we convert biomass into biochar and generate usable energy at the same time.

Pyrolysis

The key to climate-positive biomass use

Why pyrolysis is so crucial

In nature, it takes centuries for biomass to become stable carbon - for example as humus or coal. In the meantime, most of it rots and releases CO₂ or methane. Biomass is often not treated any better in technology either: It is incinerated or composted, releasing the sequestered carbon back into the atmosphere.

Pyrolysis offers a game changer here: it makes it possible to store plant carbon permanently - in the form of biochar. In contrast to conventional processes, biomass is not completely burnt, but heated in the absence of oxygen. This preserves the carbon and converts it into a stable, solid form.

At the same time, energy is generated - heat that can be used or further processed. Pyrolysis thus combines two key goals for the future: carbon capture and renewable energy generation.

At a time when we need effective solutions to reduce CO₂, pyrolysis is not just an option - it's a must.

How we use pyrolysis safely, efficiently and at scale

Our pyrolysis technology was developed with scalability, energy efficiency and carbon quality in mind. The entire process follows clear technical and ecological standards:

Technology & temperature control: Our systems operate in a temperature range of 550 to 800 °C - depending on the type of biomass and the desired carbon profile. Precise control of the temperature curves and dwell times ensures that as much stable, persistent carbon as possible is produced. Modular system concepts: Whether municipal, agricultural or industrial: our pyrolysis modules are scalable and can be operated decentrally. They are suitable for stationary use, but can also be containerized for mobile use - ideal for circular material cycles on site.Energy integration: The heat released during pyrolysis is used - whether to feed into local heating networks, to dry the biomass or to supply adjacent commercial units. In combination with combined heat and power (CHP), electricity production is also possible.Residue management: Pyrolysis is a virtually emission-free process. Flue gases are condensed, cleaned or used to generate energy. Depending on the type of system, tar substances, wood vinegar and pyrolysis gas can also be used as materials or energy.Certification and monitoring: Our processes meet the requirements of EBC (European Biochar Certificate), ISCC+ and voluntary carbon markets. CO₂ capture is documented, certified and can be marketed as a CO₂ certificate - transparent and traceable. Location partnerships wanted: We are constantly on the lookout for new locations: municipal utilities, industrial companies, sewage treatment plants, biogas plants, forestry or agricultural businesses - wherever biomass is produced and heat can be used. Become a partner in a climate-positive project for the future.

What we specifically offer

Pyrolysis systems: We develop, build and operate modular pyrolysis systems - from 50 kW to 500 kW thermal output. We attach great importance to technical robustness, ease of operation and high efficiency.Climate-positive recycling concepts: We not only supply technology, but entire concepts: How is the biomass delivered? Where does the heat go? What happens to the biochar? We think in cycles - economically and ecologically. Energy utilization: The heat generated can be used as process heat, heating energy or to generate electricity. In industry, greenhouse operations or local heating networks - depending on the needs of the site. Plant charcoal production: We produce certified plant charcoal from your biomass - for use in agriculture, horticulture, substrates or for tree revitalization. Depending on the input, charcoal is produced with specific properties.Certificates & climate performance: The amount of CO₂ captured during pyrolysis can be certified according to EBC standards and traded on the voluntary CO₂ market. We take care of the entire process - right up to the decommissioning of the certificates.Partnership models: you supply the biomass, we provide the technology and take care of operation, marketing and certification. Also available in cooperation or contracting models.

Conclusion

Pyrolysis is more than just technology - it is a tool for actively shaping a climate-friendly future. We believe in the power of regional cycles and would like to realize this together with you.
